The Board is responsible for the corporate governance of SML, including its strategic development. The Board will be responsible for reviewing corporate strategy and financial targets in terms of shareholder expectations, performance and potential. It establishes and monitors goals, controls and performance objectives for management.

David Henry Sutton
Executive Chairman

David Sutton has many years experience in stockbroking and investment banking. He was Executive Chairman from 2002 to 2010 of Martin Place Securities, a boutique investment firm holding an AFS Licence, where his responsibilities include management of corporate finance, advisory, and sharebroking activities within the firm. David currently owns and manages Dayton Way Financial Pty Ltd a boutique financial services company focussing on the global resources sector.

Prior to his current role he was a partner and Director of several stock exchange member firms including Clarke & Co and Macnab Clarke and more recently, a Director of TA Securities, Hudson Securities and Terrain Securities. He became a member of the Stock Exchange of Melbourne and subsequently, Australian Stock Exchange Limited.

His past experience in Directorships of public companies includes the Hudson Group of Companies, Fleet Capital Limited and Waivcom International Ltd and his experience in Directorships of companies in the resources sector includes Chairman of Reef Mining Limited, a listed gold producer, and he is currently a Director of Imperial Corporation Ltd, a company producing natural gas in the United States.

Charles David Straw
Chief Executive Officer (and Alternate Director)

Charles Straw is a geologist and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AUSIMM). During the past 15 years Charles has gained experience in a broad range of natural resources, engineering and IT focused projects including mineral exploration (gold, base metals and diamonds), environmental assessment and planning, engineering design, data modeling and visualisation, information management and mining finance and investment. His expertise in project management, the application of technology to geosciences and his passion for the mining industry provides the company with solid leadership that will drive the search for economic mineral deposits. Charles is also currently a director and CEO of TSX listed Artha Resources Corporation (www.artharesources.com).

David John Straw
Non-Executive Director

David Straw is a geologist with extensive experience in all phases of mineral exploration, project development, joint ventures, mine development, production, valuation and finance across most commodities including silver, gold, tin, tungsten, base metals, iron ore, mineral sands, uranium and coal. He has wide experience with companies, governments and individuals and has an intimate knowledge of all levels of corporate administration. His global experience includes, but is not limited to, Australia, Canada, USA, Mexico, Africa (South, West and Central), Europe and South-East Asia.

David has held a broad range of technical, managerial and advisory positions through his career to both small and large exploration and mining companies as well as governments. David is also currently a director of TSX listed Artha Resources Corporation (www.artharesources.com), Lovitt Resoures Limited (www.lovittresources.com) and Tearlach Resources.


Malcolm Harvey Bird
Non-Executive Director

Malcolm Bird has over 35 years experience in the stockbroking industry with an emphasis on mining investments. He is currently a Director of Morning Star Gold NL (ASX Code: MCO) and has been on the Board of Central West Gold NL (ASX Code: CWG) since its creation 17 years ago.


Kevin Martin Lynn
Company Secretary

Kevin Lynn is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years experience in the industry and resources sector and is Company Secretary for a number of publicly listed companies including Uranium Exploration Australia Limited (ASX Code: UXA) and Hill End Gold Limited (ASX Code: HEG).
